The Bahamas’ Digital Asset Journey Continues at D3
The Securities Commission of the Bahamas in collaboration with the Government of the Bahamas and Finoverse, announced the relaunch of D3 Bahamas. Regulators, founders, and experts from the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East will gather to learn, partner, and network at the beautiful Atlantis Conference Centre on October 10-12.
With increased regulatory pressure causing uncertainty in digital asset markets worldwide, this is the moment for the industry to gather to make the connections and share the experiences that will help coordinate the path forward.
A digital asset pioneer, celebrating its 50th year of independence, the Bahamas are the perfect destination for these discussions. “The Bahamas is committed to leading the FinTech and Web3 industries as we facilitate innovation and cross-border development,” Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis, K.C. said at the event relaunch. The Bahamas’ CBDC, the SandDollar, was launched in 2019, and now accounts for 80% of domestic mobile payment transactions. The Bahamas also established one of the first digital asset regulatory regimes (DARE Act) passed by legislation in 2020. “We are excited to present a FinTech event that not only embraces technological innovation but one that will serve as a driver for the development of inclusive and effective regulation. D3 Bahamas brings FinTech and Web3 creators and builders, enthusiasts, and regulators together to better understand the needs of this burgeoning community,” said Christina Rolle, Executive Director of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas.”
“Moments of uncertainty and opportunity are exactly when the industry needs to come together to forge a path forward,” Anthony Sar, Co-founder and CEO of Finoverse said. “That’s why we’re so excited to connect innovators from Asia, the Middle East, and Europe to Web3 and Fintech innovators in the Americas at D3 Bahamas.”
